Everyone Can Take the Plunge at Sao Paulo Playcenter!
Looking for an adventure that the whole family can enjoy? A trip to the Sao Paulo Playcenter will be just that and more! With over 30 attractions for children and adults of all ages, there’s never a dull moment at this amusement park. Situated at Rua Jose Gomes Falcon 20, there are over 100,000 square meters of pure excitement all packed into this one place!
The Sao Paulo Playcenter opened in 1973, becoming the first amusement park in all of Brazil. Since then, it has become a staple of families and thrill-seekers visiting Sao Paulo, and some of the most famous rollercoasters in all of America are located here for your riding enjoyment! In addition, there is a Playland for people who want to play video games or ride in motion simulators, and when you get hungry, there are many, many options of restaurants or snack bars to choose from to cure your hunger!
What makes this park even more attractive? Seniors over 65 are allowed free entrance to the Sao Paulo Playcenter, and children up to 1.10 meters in height are allowed in free with a paying adult! Tickets are around $26 for entry, and the park is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to 8pm – though hours may change for holidays, so it’s a good idea to call ahead.
As a sampling of some of the thrills you can expect at the Sao Paulo Playcenter, consider the Boomerang Coaster: this Russian-themed rollercoaster spins from one direction to the other like a boomerang, flinging you back to the beginning when you least expect it! The Evolution is an Italian rollercoaster that runs like a pendulum, and there are 10 gondolas that can hold a total of 40 people at once – the pendulum then begins to swing, reaching a height of 20 meters off the ground and spinning 360 degrees around!
The Skycoaster is a ride that has two towering slopes attached to a platform, and you’ll hold onto a cart that allows riders to feel like they’re free-falling off of a building, reaching speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour! And of course, what amusement park would be complete without a Turbo Drop, where you’re lifted nearly 60 meters high into the air and then dropped into a free fall – don’t eat lunch before getting on this ride!
The Sao Paulo Playcenter is truly an exciting stop for anyone visiting in the area, and it makes a fun and heart-racing contrast to the urban center and surrounding greenery of the landscape – after all, everyone needs a little adrenaline rush once in awhile!
