Looking for Sao Paulo Hotels?
A Quick Guide to Brazilian Accomodations

There are many, many Sao Paulo Hotels to choose from on your visit to the city, so it’s a good idea to consider the various areas and types of accomodation options available to you before you head out. Choosing a hotel at random may seem like fun at first, but it won’t seem to fun if you show up and find out the room is unlivable!

The good thing about Sao Paulo is that it’s a city with class, so there are a large number of highly recommended and spectaular hotels in the city. Two key areas that are worth considering for your stay are downtown Sao Paulo, or the Sao Paulo business district.

Hotels in downtown Sao Paulo are generally four and five star hotels, and almost all the hotels have swimming pools for guests to use free of charge. The good thing about staying in a downtown hotel is that you’re only a few minutes’ walk away from Brazilian shopping, theatres, clubs, and the subway. The variety of Sao Paulo hotels is also extensive, though themed hotels will run you a few hundred dollars US per night, as opposed to some of the smaller hotels. Generally, on a stay-per-night basis you’ll pay anywhere from $70-$300 per night, simply depending on which downtown hotel you choose.

Sao Paulo hotels in the business and financial district, however, are what a visitor might consider the ‘lap of luxury’. Since Sao Paulo is such a popular city in which to do high-end business, this area of the city is packed with high-end four star and five star hotels. The prices are somewhat higher, but the additional amenities and gorgeous rooms are worth it! For example, one of Sao Paulo’s famous Renaissance Hotels is around $200 USD per night – however, it’s fully equipped with a fitness club, outdoor pool, sauna, and massage therapy.

Many of Sao Paulo’s three star hotels and hostels are located outside of the main downtown core, but are still inside the city. These hotels tend to be the more generic chain hotels, such as the Holiday Inn and Quality Hotels or Suites, though they are very comfortable and well kept. These hotels will be anywhere from $50-$150 per night, though some of the four-star hotels in the area will be higher. The reason these hotels tend to be rated a little lower and cost a bit less is simply due to location – almost all Sao Paulo hotels will have multilingual staff to help you on your visit, and many of these hotels will have outdoor pools as well.

It’s worth noting that when it comes to extended stays in Sao Paulo, hotels in the business and downtown districts may be willing to offer visitors discounts on their stay. For the budget traveler however, it would be wise to consider a three-star hotels in the outer metropolis – many of these hotels are willing to offer visitors discounts up-front, especially if you’re booking through a travel agent or online.
